I need help.

I want to install windows 98 or windows xp ( ANY ONE VERSION OF WINDOWS WILL DO QUITE GOOD) in a pc that has NO CD ROM NEITHER FLOPPY DISK DRIVE.

the problem is that the pc's fdd is damaged so is the cd rom.
jai hok

i used to install win98 using a START UP DISK of win98 and then i can use pc from DOS format. and then install win 98 from HDD.
and umm xp install kori CD rom boot diye but in that pc i dont have a cd rom.

so whenever i start my pc, the screen gets stucked after sometime with the message

PRESS A KEY TO REBOOT.

i need a quick and fast solution for this problem.

the pc where i want to install the window has 3 drives. C:\ is completely empty and D:\ contains the installer of win98.
all drives are in NTFS Format

It may help u

Install Xp From Dos

If XP will not install from the CD or if you have a new drive with no operating system on
it yet try these:

Install Windows XP from the hard drive with Windows 98 already installed:

Boot Windows 98
Insert the XP CD into your CD reader
Explore Windows XP through My Computer
Copy i386 folder to C:\
Go into C:\i386 folder and double click on winnt32.exe to launch the setup from the hard drive

Install Windows XP from DOS (ie. no OS on a new hard drive):

Boot with a Windows 98 Start Up disk
Insert the Windows 98 CD into the CD reader
Run smartdrv.exe from the Win98 directory on the windows 98 CD (file caching)
Type cd.. to back up to the root directory
Insert Windows XP CD into the CD reader
Copy the i386 folder to C:\
Go into C:\i386 folder on C: and type winnt.exe to launch the setup from the hard drive.
