Forum Rules We welcome you to participate in the .doshomik
Community, however as with all social circles there are a few rules you must
abide by in order to maintain your active membership within these message
boards. We are trying to provide the highest quality community
experience for all of our members and following these guidelines is the best
way to maintain a quality environment for all age groups. If we find that
you break any of these rules, your account may be disabled and your posting
privileges removed. These rules are very basic and we hope that you read
them fully. Thanks for your cooperation. - No Graphic Material of either a macabre or
pornographic nature. Any posts or links to
such content will not be tolerated.
- No Warez (links) & Cracks. Help, requests or posts that discuss circumvention. This
includes linking to illegally obtained software, movies & music files -
posting about it, and suggesting to get it.
- No Cursing or Swear words. We encourage you
to use our Communities as a forum to debate topics, but please use proper
adjectives to express yourself. We do not tolerate circumvention of our word
filter or abuse upon another member.
- No Racism, Threatening, Personal Attacks, No
(citing) Victimization or Hateful posts / Retaliation of any kind against a
user, or group of users If you are a long
standing member, act like one; lead by example and assist other newer users
rather then attacking them. We look upon our veteran users to use this
opportunity to teach the newer users the appropriate way to conduct
themselves in this community.
- No Flaming, Personal attacks such as flaming,
instigating "flame bait", verbal abuse or mocking of members in forum posts
are not tolerated at .doshomik. Such posts will be deleted on sight and
moderated accordingly. As above, if you are a long standing member, act
like one. Lead by example and assist other newer members rather then
attacking them. Members that reply to posts simply to instigate argument
will be dealt with and shown no mercy.
- Posts in a particular forum need to stay on
topic. If you want to talk about something that is drastically removed
from the topic of a forum, please take it to The Dustbin.
The Dustbin
was set up and designed for members to discuss issues not related to a
specific forum section. We welcome most general conversation in the
The Dustbin,
but discourage it from other forums. Use a title that describes the content
of your post. Don't use all caps or special characters to draw attention.
- No Avatar & Custom Title Abuse. These are a
luxury and abuse of them will result in them being lost and your account
being restricted. We also have Avatar & ignature Guidelines that outline what image (type,
dimensions & file size) we find acceptable click (here) to view.
- .doshomik is not a support forum for affiliates
or related sites. Comparing, judging the
content/value or raising the opinion of other sites, recruiting members or
staff, bad mouthing (or victimizing) & negative discussion about
non/affiliate site issues on our forums is neither wanted or tolerated.
- No spamming, Ever! Spamming is characterized
by the initiation of threads or posts that contribute nothing to a forum, be
it off topic or on topic. Examples include: empty bodies, bodies with few
words that have no relation to the current thread or discussion and those
posts that state they are spam, either to annoy, advertise or increase a
member's post count. Resurrecting old forum posts is also not appreciated
unless it serves a worthy cause to the forum. This determination is made by
the forum Moderator or Administrator and is not up for discussion. a. Forum sigs are to be used respectfully,
.doshomik already has to display ads to cover the running costs, so don't
annoy our members by making your sig into some sort of web ad. (ie:
Advertising in your sig is not allowed).
- .doshomik also enforces forum specific rules,
the ".doshomik Community Rules" apply in conjunction with any forum
specific rules.
- .doshomik requires that members respect the
decision of moderators. Threads and posts questioning the actions or
decisions of forum moderations will be deleted on sight, and the appropriate
action taken (up to and including forum bans) against the thread starter
and/or participants. However, as a member you reserve the right to PM any
moderator or administrator regarding action taken at .doshomik.
- Reporting System: Do not abuse the report
system, while we appreciate members reporting bad behavior, we don't
appreciate rude comments or your opinion on how 'quick' staff are at
handling problems around here.
- No alternate accounts are allowed. Should you
be disciplined with a restriction or ban, you are not allowed to open a new
account to obtain freedom to post. Restrictions and bans are given for a
reason, and usurping that ability by re-registering is not tolerated. If
another account is opened, that account will be banned immediately, and the
original account will be further penalized. Anyone who has warnings on their
account are automatically excluded from changing their user name.
- .doshomik reserves the right to change or alter
these rules at any time and an Administrator's word is final.
Note: Any infraction of these guidelines will result in a warning placed
against your .doshomik account and will be added to your overall warning
level.
Avatar & Signature Guidelines Below are the .doshomik guidelines for member signature images. Please note
that in a lot of cases these guidelines also apply to text based signatures and
avatars.
The maximum overall size for signatures is 150 pixels high by
550 pixels wide - this also includes text as well.
File sizes should be no larger than 50KB. Smaller is preferred as we need
to be mindful of our members on dial up access.
Below is an image depicting the maximum size for signatures. Are YOU
overcompensating for a much smaller problem?
Inappropriate content includes; - Too large, or file size exceeds recommended size.
- Pornographic, violent or otherwise offensive images, language etc. This
may include racist remarks, slander etc...
- If the avatar/signature is overly distracting, ie. bright flashing
colors, animated sigs (i.e. GIF's/Flash)
- Audio. These are distracting for our members, so do not have audio in
your signature.
- Your signature may not advertise a competing site or alternative to
.doshomik, or advertise a commercial venture. .doshomik has its own
advertising, this is the only acceptable (commercial) advertising on
.doshomik. This has been an issue lately. Staff are aware of it and will
take action against any offending signatures we may see.
- And of course, do not contain links to, or use your signature to link to
pages that contain objectionable material. This includes, warez, cracks,
pornography, pyramid schemes, referral ID's, ebay listings and requesting
donations.
- Please do not include signature links of a malicious nature. e.g.
those that crash your browser, trigger popup floods or emulate BSOD's.
Example Signature:
In case the above is not clear enough. Remember this
clarification: - Please remember that the 150x550 limit
includes images and text TOGETHER.
- For an example... you can't have a 150x550
image and then include more images/text after that. However you can have
more than one image as long as they don't pass the maximum size of
150x550.
- Also, you can not include a 150x550 image and
also include another image after that.
- The total maximum size for a sig (images and text
combined) is 150x550
Please respect our 56k modem users:
The maximum file size for an avatar is 20KB.
The maximum file size for a signature is 50KB.
When you upload your avatar you will be reminded of the 20KB file size limit. It
will also remind you that the maximum avatar size is 100 pixels by 100 pixels.
Members who choose to not follow these guidelines may have their signature
removed without notice.
Repeat offenders may find themselves locked out of their own control panel.
Help us out too. If you see something inappropriate, let us know as soon as
possible (via PM or 'Report to Moderator' feature works) and we will deal
with it.
