Nobel laureate and Grameen Bank founder Dr Muhammad Yunus has backed off from forming a political party, citing changed circumstances in the country.
He made his decision known in an open letter to the nation today.
Dr Yunus said he tried his level to float the party but in the changed scenario he now realises that he is no good at forming a political organisation.
Sources said the Grameen Bank founder held an hour-long meeting with Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed last night before making his decision public.
In the letter he thanked those who encouraged and extended help to him in the process of forming the party.
