..for Muslims it's the most blessed month in a yr.What fasting teaches us : It teaches self-control & patience. it reminds ppl of the needy and makes us appreciating the simple blessings that we r given. ex: drinking pure water, there r many who dont get to drink it. this can be further elaborated but these are the core things..
who must fast : every physically able muslim male\female.
who is not required :
1) insane
2) children (those who havent reach puberty ).
who must make up (these r ppl who do not break their fast intentionally):
1) sick person
2) traveler (if u travel far & break ur fast )
3) pregnant & breastfeeding women
make up for those who was fasting but broke it INTENTIONALLY(vomiitng & eating intentionally, intercourse): u have to fast for 60 consecutive days, has to be consecutive or else u have to start over & if unable to do that feed 60 poor person.
there is one more case in which u must pay compensation 4 not fasting & being unable to make up.. those will be ppl who r constantly ill & find it difficult to fast.
and Finally
when fasting is haram : on 2 holidays.. Eid ul Fitr & Eid ul Adha
( the gr8est reward during this month is gained by helping the needy )
Good luck guys!
