While competitors are targeting the individual applications Google has deployed, Google is building a massive, general purpose computing platform for web-scale programming.
This computer is running the world's top search engine, a social networking service, a shopping price comparison engine, a new email service, and a local search/yellow pages engine and probably virtually anything and everything....
So ppl what r u expecting from the NextGen OS namely GoogleOS
I found searching in google that it may be a AJAX powered webOS ,it is basically a virtual desktop on the web and has various built-in applications. Google already has a history of producing web-based products that mimic desktop apps - Gmail was the first desktop client like email reader, and now they have Google Docs & Spreadsheets, Google Calendar and other desktop-like products. Also note that Google's internal open sourced widget toolset, GWT, allows them to replicate any desktop capability.
Another possibility is a Linux Distro which will be free and will be hosted free as they did as Firefox or simple a Networked OS like youOS.
I am an admirer of the intelligent capabilities of Google as a search engines and other features offered by google."
