A dreadful night

Yesterday at night there was no electricity in our house for three hours! So, today I wrote a poem about it :

A dreadful night

I’ve been studying very hard
Then at night I got tired.
So I left my books and went to sleep,
and started to dream about the Titanic ship.

Suddenly I woke up,
And looked up at the clock,
I saw that it was night 1’o clock!
Oh! Such despair,
Because it a hot and humid atmosphere.
No fan, no cooler,
And there is a loud annoying noise of generator.
I started sweating, and the bed got wet.
Then I felt like there would be a flood of sweat.

I thought after an hour the electricity would be back,
But three long hours passed
And still no sign it being back.
I tried to sleep, but it wasn’t easy
Because the mosquitoes sang in my ears, making my head go dizzy.
Then I could hear the call to Fazr prayer,
I tried getting up, but I was feeling very weary and heavy.
A few more minutes passed and I felt a bit more cooler,
I looked up and saw the fan spinning.
Ah! Peace at last! The electricity is back.
Now again I let me down to sleep,
and started dreaming of the titanic ship.

umm first poem..if u dont have poet-like mentality then i wud say it coludn't get any better ! .. nice
