Among Win Os's i used 95,98,2000 Professional, Me , and finally xP, still using Xp. well stable but most stable win i felt was 2000 professional. Though it doesnt support many games.

Then comes linux, used Redhat 11- Fedora core 2 & 3, Mandrake 10, among theses i liked mendrake most.

Among BSD OS's , i used only freeBSD ( 4.11 Stable ) and that was the best os i ever used in my view. most stable and reliable. Never used Mac yet but i guess soon i will try.

The work i do, i never have to think in OS level or server level.
As a user level i operated in both Linux n windows.

I find that the graphics n sound is excellent in both Red Hat n Mandrake specially when we compare them with windows versions below XP. The XP they obviously give attention in the above two field. But still I feel Linux is better in those fields.

Windows is known for its user friendliness. But it is important when the user is a non-it person. For Experience persons, it will not be a great problem.

When we look for security, windows are always vulnerable as compared to Linux. That’s why the no of viruses is negligible in Linux as compared to windows.

( all the above are my personal opinion based on my little IT experience.)

virus er khetre akta mojar baper holo, windows is the most dominant os. with 85% share overall. so its an obvious that virus writer would write viruses for windows. and the security vulnerbility is just a rumor spreaded by the open sourse comunity. and the most amaijing thing is, all the virus writers are also "open sourse crazy". And every open sourse crazy peoples hate windows and microsoft. so they write virus for windows. Thats the only reason linux viruses are not written. if written, linux would be vulnarable like windows.
this truth was exposed recently with virus attacking mac os which is known as "reliable". but actually reliability depends on popularity. the more populer an OS is, the more virus it would get.
thats why windows is the victim of most virus.

i am thinking of buying a good new pc. ( laptops )
and i selected the new macbook pro. :P for its stylish design and powerful configuaration.
and obviously of its OS's stunning graphics.
but as i thought of using such high performence computers, i couldnt think of much ways i can use it with. For them i have to use Windows based pcs.
Here are some simple common software i use very often now, and i also analysed how many will work with mac.
PS. most of the software i use are freewares and pirated. as i cant afford, or better to say i cant think of spending that much money for softwares where i can get them at a very cheap price. i can manage the educational discount for the mac as my cousin studies in US

1. Realplayer (mac ok) (free for windows, but couldnt find a free for mac, i have to buy it for mac)
2. Windows Media player (mac ok)
3. DivX Player (mac ok) ( free for windows but not for mac )
4. iTunes (mac) (free)--or it will come with the newly buyed mac
5. Quick Time (mac)(normal version) the pro version will come free with newly buyed mac
6. Jet Audio(pirated)
7. Msn Messenger (mac ok)
8 Skype (mac ok)
9. Paltalk (mac ok)
10.Yahoo Messenger (mac ok)
11. Google Talk (mac ok)
12. Winrar (mac ok)
13. Acdsee (pirated)
14.AVG (i use avg free--coudnlt fiund for mac)
15. Adobe acrobat reader ( mac ok)
16. Intervideo win DvD (i have a genuine cd of this one-- couldnt find for mac)
17. yahoo widgets (mac ok)
18. Firefox (mac ok)

19.Office 2000 Small Business edition ( i have installed it from the original cd, its not a freeware neither for windows nor mac, but a test version of MS Office comes with a newly buyed mac)
20.Pocket Oxford dictionary (i have its cd for a long time, not sure there are any version of it for mac)
21.Winamp(free one, havent checked it has a free mac version or not)
22.Bijoy
23.DvDfab Platinum
24.Serials 2000
25.Banglacafe mIRC
26.Theme-- Bricopacks Umicons Shellpack
27.Power Encoder
28.Audio mp3 sound recorder

the above were installed in my pc currently, but i also have some Software Cds purchased from local markets and those are absolutely pirated and i guess all are based on windows.

So What do u ppls think... Using Mac OS (buying mac pc) for users like me would be a good idea?
Esp in BD?Where i only saw mac pcs in the mac importer's showroom at idb.

Can u give any scientific reason for that or u only feel that. What deficits do Linux have so that it can be more vulnerable???

And if u comment that people write windows virus bkz they hate windows then i have only one comment for u and that is "Childish". People write more windows virus only bkz they find it more easy, nothing more. from where u got that "windows hater" logic???? It is just funny.
