IreLand - New Team in LG ODI Ranking!

Ireland have earned a place on the ICC ODI championship table after beating a Test-playing nation for the second time at the World Cup. Ireland's 74-run win over Bangladesh at Barbados means they will be on the official rankings list that will be updated after their final Super Eights game, against Sri Lanka on Wednesday.

Ireland graduates from the ICC Associate rankings and joins Kenya as the only non-Test countries in the full ODI championship. An Associate can be promoted when it has played at least ten one-day internationals and has beaten two Full Members, or has defeated one Full Member and won more than 60% of its games against other Associates.

Having upset Pakistan in their group match, Ireland needed only one more win to take the next step. In accordance with a previous ICC decision, Ireland has ODI status until 2009, along with the other top Associate Members - Kenya, Scotland, Netherlands, Canada and Bermuda.

Ireland obviously deserve ODI Ranking. And ICC sud provide them some Funds to help them build up a Cricket society and some Talent search includin a Yearly League. Which will help to b a New Test Playin Nation. ICC sud look and work into increasin number of Test Playin Nations. They Way Ireland played this year ( World Cup ), they really can b the nXt one. even 5 years ago they were down under Denmark ( I deem they even know wut cricket is

... LoL ) ... So if they can improve that much in 5 years, then they can improve far better wit a Strong management and background.

Bangladesh should invite Ireland to play a 2/3 match series in October..when Bangladesh will be all free..
Then they will understand..what is "THRASHING" in subcontinents!!

Obviously dey r in a good form and hav da quality to acqure ODI status dis moment but for test status dey hav to wait ...... not for a long but .... dey hav to prepare em selvez
