Singer and Journalist Sanjib Chowdhury dies

Dhaka, Nov 18 – Journalist and singer Sanjib Chowdhury died from brain hemorrhage shortly after Sunday midnight (12:10am) at age 43, an official with Apollo Hospital said.

Sanjib was taken to Apollo Hospital Friday. Sanjib was first rushed to a hospital in Mirpur with breathing problems, his family said.

Sanjib started his career in journalism with Bangla-language daily Ajker Kagoj in 1991 and became popular as features writer.

He was one of the founders of musical band Dal Chhut in 1996 and released the latest album Jyotsna Bihar.

Born in Sylhet, Sanjib did his Master's in mass communication and journalism from Dhaka University.

Sanjib left behind wife Progga Nasrin Shilpi and daughter Kingbadanti.

Seven years ago, this song of his rocked Bangladesh. Sanjib Chowdhury, one half of Dolchut, is no longer with us. He passed away this morning (18th Nov, 2007) leaving a legacy which will be remembered forever. He touched our lives with his unique style of singing, his wonderful lyrics and his great partnership with Bappa Majumder.

i knew him very well and 2 yrs back when Bappa vai and Mahmuduzzaman Babu vai stays with us in Connecticut, USA..
they shared so many funny jokes and stories of him..

We(me and my husband) were supposed to meet him..
unfortunately who knew he will die soon..
though he used to drinka lottttttttt which is un imaginable....
but he used to make people laugh and e was always smily...

iam so shocked when i 1st heard this news in my hi5 music grp...
at 1st i didnt think its was him...
bishash kortei kosto hochilo..well MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE...
