Default 1 Question, Posted March 16th, 2007, 08:19 AM #1 (permalink) |
Today we have a new religion who advice and preach not to believe in any god. They tell us because of religion we have so much hatred and mass murder!

Now not believing in god how does this stop murder and hatred as god is not the problem but human satisfaction, superiority and domination is what causes the problem. Another interesting point to be noted is, if asked what is the way to follow for a peaceful world they will tell us exactly what most religion has made compulsory duties and obligations.

My question is, how does not believing in God change this world to a better place?

my answer:

not believing in god (whatever one may define god to be) will in no way directy influence the continuation of human conflicts, and they will foreseeably never not cease to exist

albeit, believing in god and having faith in religion (be it any abrahamic religion) however does provide the backdrop of unrelenting violence amongst the most extreme of practitioners, as was the case with the crusades where bloodletting was rampant amongst both the muslims and the christians

it shud be noted though that wars have existed long before the practice of organized religion and like MANUSH correctly pointed out, they are more to do with the human desire for superiority and domination and less insistent on something more divine, namely belief in god

...........just my 2 cents over here

WEll the thing is...why there is so many religion?? people made it for themselves kinda like having a power...

and oi peoplrai to tader dhormo manena..kono dhormei to likha nei khuna khuni korar kotha...crime...this and that...
so they dont do it for the Religion...they do it for themselves..
so not believing god is not the solution...they need to correct themselves...
Every fortune has a crime behind It

So every fortunate person is a criminal

you dont need a religion to tell us the right or wrong.

it is in our natural ability to detect what is right and wrong . most of the countries have their laws based on this natural sense of only what is logical.

If I take away your money , you'll know it is wrong, because i dont have a right on your money and have forcefully taken it away. This sort of common sense of judgement makes people realize the true sins . As example, internet crimes are not defined in any religion books, but by our own common sense we know which are right and wrong and the criminals who do these.

religion employs the idea of heaven and hell to prevent people from commiting a sin. but that is not an effective idea. most criminals in bangladesh believe that they can avoid hell by preyer and asking for forgivenessto god. the bigger criminals visit the holy places too often. but that doesnt repay the victims of their crimes. to tell you the truth , to get the judgement u'll have to die forst and wait for the judgement day whose existance is rather questionable. religion also creates some terrorists, who commits some crime to humanity , and positively believe that they will go to heaven. religion couldnt stop them, but the countries judicial and police system have stopped them . bangla bhai is in police's jail , not in god's jail .

a closing like that deserves to be quoted at the very least, impressive

so yes, religion in itself is not to blame for wars and human conflict, and is quite incapable of preventing it, as one ud gather from reading SEVERUS's post and applying common sense in general

My intention is not to debate about anyone’s logics but understand what difference will it make” not believing in our creator”, as I earlier mentioned god is not the problem but differences which is due to human error and differences of so called common sense.

Afore mentioned common senses have been carefully chosen but common sense has many differences as well.
