wont the pain of the break-up be too much for at least one of the 'friends,' reminding him/her of the good times they spent and how all that was a lie; id imagine tht they ud be reminded of tht fact evrytime they meet and i dont think tht ud be a very pleasant thought for either of them; so wht im trying to say is if they were really in love, i dont think they cud afford to be best friends cos they ud be left lamenting wht cud have been, and how one feels the other betrayed him or her; thts hardly what a friendship is based upon, let alone the bond between best friends; and if they arent best friends now, logic ud dictate tht they werent best friends to begin with, becos among other things, best friends forgive and forget; i dont c how tht can happen between two 'friends' who were in love and in a serious relationship
