History is very important. Just recently I was debating in a forum about Bangladesh independence and the father of nation and I realized both parties have very little to say as both parties have different stories about the independences and none can be proven wrong or right because of the differences of historians and later changes.

I agree with Reev that history has repeatedly changed but then we should change that and not let it happen so the coming generations don’t go trough the confusions we are going trough.

Another reason I say history is important is for the dark ages that we all keep hearing about, but how many realize that the dark ages we talk about was only dark ages for the west and not the Muslim world. Muslims are being portrayed as terrorists, trying to dominate the world and then kill all non Muslims or force them to become Muslims, which is creating lot of differences and hatred but if people were more aware of the history then we wouldn’t have this much confusion as Muslims did dominate over more then half of the world and the biggest example of Muslim domination can be taken from Spain which is a Christian country that enjoyed modernization and better living before any other western countries because of Muslim leaders dominating it, they never killed or force anyone to be a Muslim, later all remaining Muslims were butchered by Christian crusaders.

Sorry for getting religion involved but it is not intended for religious reason but only as an example.

At my last post i was talking about my personal history...

here i am agreeing with masoom bhai..what ever he said on religious based...
But we still have a big fight on our freedom fight..who is the announcer of freedom??

with respect Zia or Muzib?? still people picking up subjects and fight on this..looking for this kinda history is not good..and useless...because thats not important who did it..the important thing is what was done by them....

IMO

history is meant for the pages of history books only

sure one is expected to learn from the past but certainly not dwell on it
