| Masoom, you mean he lost. Varicella zoster virus (VZV) is what causes chickenpox and Shingles (Herpes Zoster). Only differance is the management and Complications, with chickenpox i personally would not advise any medication but yes Aciclovir is effective if commenced within 48 hours but in Shingles it is essential and protecting the eyes is very important because of complications, most people are in danger of ulceration and neurolgia. | |||||||||||||||||||
