yup, communicating, i think, is the best was to solve any kind of problems in any realtionship. and communication helps each person understand the other person better, which is really important for any realtionship to stand strong for a loong time!! and i dont think time can always heel everything. smtimes, in fact, for me, most of the times, it makes it harder to confess or discuss things with the other person!!
