| It's totaly deppens on person 2 person... Amader culture amra boro der ke respect kore "Apni" Word ta use kori.. thats the main thing... But onek khetre dekha jai je amra respect kore "Tui" word tao use kori.. ajka boro ra "tui" take beyadobi khetre dekha.. For ex... ami amar mama khala ke tui bole daki.... i personaly feel kori je eita ekta taan.. vhalobashar and respect diya ami tui word ta boli.. tui bolle amar kacha manush take bashi close and apon mone hoy... kintu dekha jabe onno kono family te boro der ke tui bole daka ekta beyadobi.. kintu jodi amra chinta kore dekhi... ager kale.. grame not only ager kale still ekhono grame manush boro der ke tui bole take... it's a simple thing...kichu ´kichu grame abar apnio bolto altime... like 1 years boro big bro ke apni bole tumi na bole... Amra young genaration e "Tui n tumi" word ta use korte bashi pochondo kori... incase jodi person ta khubi age e boro na hoy tahole amra apni boli na sohoje... thats what i think... So amra respect and vhodrotar khatire "Apni" boli... and friend n shomoboyoshi ba family related kauke apni boli... onek shomoy dekha jai ochena shomo boyoshi kaukeo "Apni" boli... ami nije tumi tumi tumi n tui tui tui word ta use korte pochondo kori  So it deppens on person to person..  | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| Like everyone else said, it's totally upto the individual and what he/she feels comfortable adressing others as weather its tui/tumi/or apni. For me, I usually use APNI if it's someone out of my family like Auntis and uncles blah blah... them. I'm used to callin ppl by Tumi cuz I feel comfortable saying tht.
