| People must understand that the UN was established by powerful countries such as America. The UN is just a powerful tool for countries like America. I think that Iran should be allowed to develop nuclear weapons for defence purposes only and not to attack countries like Israel if it is not necessary. | To be honest, I don't think anyone should have nuclear weapons...I mean c'mon do u really want to wake up one day to learn that more than half of the world has been destroyed by some nukes...because some greedy evil war hawks felt like such an horrible incident should happen? Or may be you will never wake up...cuz u were there where they dropped the bombs... I mean think about the first time when the US nuke bombed Japan back in World War II....the whole world was shocked....and then the continuation of the Cold War.... Even though we may think that the Cold War has finished...we would be making a mistake. It hasn't stopped...it actually took a different path....by spreading its war in the rest of the world (Cold war was actually between Russia and US). The continuation and presence of this new war...or terrorism (state terrorism included) is clearlyvisible and indisputably horrifying. A simple example would be North Korea’s latest testing of it’s nuclear weapons despite the outcry of the rest of the world. As a matter of fact, there are five countries (the United States of America, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, and the People’s Republic of China) that are considered to be "Nuclear Weapons States"; an internationally recognized status conferred by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty or NPT in brief. Since the formulation of the NPT, three non-signatory countries including India, Pakistan, and North Korea have conducted nuclear tests. These countries now have the nuclear power enough to destroy the whole world before one can even blink. And more recently, Iran’s hide and seek playfulness regarding it’s actual intention of nuclear facilities has also kept the world in utter tension. What are Iran's real intentions? I mean one has to be really naive to say that Iran does not have any intention to create nukes. I think they very well will. There are many reasons behind it...to cut the list in short we could just say: (please remember this is not a complete list...you could always add and subtract from this list) 1. To bring a balance to the power race, of which the western countries are the winners now... 2. To have more dominance over the rest of the islam world, so that perhaps they could establish their shia culture (frankly i do not support the division in muslim ppl...the shia and sunni culture...its a misconcept of islam itself!) I think there is no reason to support anyone who's craving for power...and power that will come only if millions, if not billions of people are killed with massive explosions of nuclear bombs. I think disarmament is the only answer...and why only go against Iran or North Korea... the US, UK. India , Pakistan, China, Russia...and so on must destroy their nuclear bombs also... At the end we all want peace... And that peace would never be achieved...if we continue to produce nukes, right? -upol- | |||||||||||||||||||||
