Pakistan's pacemen Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug prior to their opening match of the Champions Trophy against Sri Lanka in Jaipur on Tuesday.
The tests were conducted by the Pakistan Cricket Board before the players left for the one-day tournament, the results of which were out on Sunday night.
The players will return to Pakistan on Monday itself.
WADA, World Anti-Doping Agency, and the International Cricket Council had an understanding as per which the cricketers would undergo random testing during the Champions Trophy.
The Pakistan cricket team's practice on Monday morning was cancelled in the wake of the reports but captain Younis Khan and coach Bob Woolmer will address the media at 1200 IST.
Coach Woolmer also said that the team would practice at 1800 IST under lights at the Rajasthan Cricket Association ground.
Australia's Shane Warne had tested positive for banned substance diuretic prior to the 2003 World Cup and was consequently suspended from the game for one year.
