| I was just waiting to see such heading that Australia gave a tough fight to India through out the series. I know many will dislike it. But it is the fact.
This Australia is just a shadow of past. First bowling department. They are missing Shane Warne & McGrath too much. Their place is no replacement of them in current Australian side. With all respect to Brate Lee, he was not became a match winner in any of the match. Among all matches, Braken only was excellent. Now Hogg is also taking retirement. So, no idea who will be the next spinner!!! Probably Devid Hissy. But still I can say that he is not going to be a second Shane Worn.
In Fielding department, Australia is still one of the better team. But After seeing the fielding of the under19 team of New Zealand and South Africa, I can not say that Australia is the optimum. Also don’t forget the empty place of Adam Gilchrist in years ahead.
Now in batting, I believe, still they have a very strong batting line up as past. In this series their top 3 batsman could not give a regular partnership. Symonds was just a shadow of real Symonds. But it is a matter of bad patch, not a matter of class. Only one missing link is there as compared to old Australian team and that is Michel Bevan. Hussy is a top class batsman probably better than Brvan in technique but Michan Bevan is the all time best Finisher. Current Australian team missing a finisher as Symonds is coming up the order and out of his devastating form.
Now India is going in a dream run now days. 1st winning 20/20 WC. Next Beating Australia in Perth. Australia should be happy that they got some unfair decision thought out the test series which let them win the series 2-1. It should have been reversed if they had played with 11 players instead of 14 (11 players + 2 Umpires + 1 TV Umpires). Now India won the under19 WC and not but the least win in 50 over format in Australia and against Sri Lanka and Australia.
Some days back I saw one of Ponting’s column and he wrote 3rd final is not required. He was right but it back fired. Now, Australian team should show some respect to the other teams otherwise they will be forced to do so. They should remember that they are not the genius now, at least after loosing three matches in a row in their home soil.
About Indian team, their bowling was excellent even in the absence of Zahir Khan, Kumble, RP sing and Ishant ( In the last final). Batting was good in patches but that is understandable as they are playing in a different condition also don’t forget they played in the absence of Sourav Ganguli, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laksman. But the difference is that this India team does not fear to return fire against fire. Australia better back to basics of playing Cricket instead of on field/ off field extra curricular activities if they want to get some respect to other teams as a sportsman as well as a person. ~*~*~I Love Walking In The Rain Because Nobody Can See Me Crying!~*~*~ |
