how could u even think that if they pay lower than the fixed salary the workers will work with them? this might increase their profit in a very short run but they can NEVER be able to make profit in the long term. NEVER.
the pay is less. but they were told while joining that what they will get after the month.
and thats what they exactly gets.

a personal question: do u have/had economics? and what are u studying? if so.

I don't think india will be that nosey in the isssue like rikshaw puncture but i do belive that they will be nosey where they will find their profit , I agree with asHiQuE that the garments which were destroyed about 90% of them are well organised and they do take care of their workers or if u dont agree in this point think about the garments which are owned by the foreigner where they obey all the rules to run thier business they also been attacked and destroyed, they are now thinking to leave BD by shutting their business.

our bangalis problem we are an emotional nation we try to mix emotion with facts and make some comments like this (a mess of slang words) " bangali der main shomossa nijer pant chira oita na thik koira onno karo pant chira pasa dekha jaitasey sheita nia matha betha beshi nijer ta thik korar kotha chinta korey na -- razku
"

I don't blame the workers for their demonstration its their rights but we should be worried about the destructions which were winded up by the neighbouring agents.

I agree with Severus about the problems garments workers facing work, its mainly our politicians are to blame. there's a bloody labour & employments ministry but what the hell they are doing they even couldn't ensure the national minimum wage, fixed weekly working hours , paid holidays, maternity/paternity leave, healthy hazard free working condition for garments workers.

we talk about indian products style music etc. but if bangladesh could make a quality product with affordable price I bet people would buy this product. if we are emotional and being patriots buy BD products with high price and low quality ,one day we'll discover ourselves in street as begers...... lets think about the labours rights , make quality products then we wont rely on those foreign products.

a personal question: do u have/had economics? and what are u studying? if so.
just because i have studied less economics than you doesnt mean I'd know the reality less than you. where do u live bro ?

now abt the payments ? how many garments do u know ? and how many garments owner have you talked to ? and did you talk to any workers ? I dont think so.

The Garments workers are forced to work for less salary. Because, if they lose the job there would be more than 10 more applicant for their position. I am sure you are not familiar with the unemployment situation here. Almost in every garments workers dont get evaluated for their over time, which they are usually forced to do. Some garments are also open at fridays which is supposed to be the weekly holiday. Many garments dont even pay the salary in time. It is usually a common thing to see a worker is being paid the salary a few months later. Tell me man , how would you feel if you get your salary of january in march ? does your economics studies have taught you that . It iks not how much economics u have studied, it is how much common knowledge u have. so plz , try to atleast think from the workers side before commenting

i studied economics for just 3 months only and im never claiming that i have mastered economics. i myself know very well that i dont know much about economics. i just asked that bcoz i was curious to know abt ur majors
i had no intention to offend u with that.

and besides,
this is BD
the unemployment rate is really high. but increasing the salary doesnt worth it.
never forget we are in a 3rd world country.
and like i said BD has way better remmuneration packages/salaries than many countries.
EVEN BETTER THAN CHINA.

My opinion in this thread is to make it clear that BD is not directly invloved in the riots of the garment factory.
thats from my point of view
