Cox's Bazaar doesn't deserve the vote quite frankly. It's just an enormously long stretch of sand. It's polluted in parts, has almost nothing in the way of water sports, and is a hostile place to be if you're a foreigner.

It does not get my vote.

It would be a shameful thing if Cox's Bazaar were to take the place of a natural landmark that actually deserved the title. How could we be proud of having achieved an accolade that we never deserved?

How would you really feel if you were an inhabitant of those countries with smaller populations who have a valid claim to that honour?

Cox's Bazaar is nice, but there are places that are nicer.

Bangladeshis are voting for Cox's Bazaar out of a sense of patriotic duty. However, patriotism can never be without honour. Indeed, there is no honour in hollow 'victory.'
