~ that's how it is. snape had always been portrayed as a person who is lonely and faces the world alone and someone who rarely has a friend. he had been shown to turn offer of help ( by lily ). which is a sign of someone who is proud enough to operate alone alike voldemort. So, we can assume very much that he is independant
~ he certainly had respects for dumbledore or his ability, but he certainly had some control on his own decission. i dont think dumbledore tried much to influence his actions
