Yesterday {18th July} it was believed that Ruud van Nistelrooy was heading out of Old Trafford to the Santiago Bernabeu, yet Sir Alex Ferguson has rejected Real Madrids offer for the Dutch striker.
Reports in Spain yesterday suggested that a fee had been agreed and that Ruud was to undergo a medical today. Real Madrid had even published a player profile of Ruud on their website, this was quickly taken off though.
It seems only a matter of time before van Nistelrooy joins Real Madrid. In order for this to happen Real Madrid need to raise their offer from Ł10 million closer to Uniteds valuation of Ł15 million.
Ferguson stated: “There is no agreement between Manchester United and Real Madrid over Ruud. We have refused their offer. He remains a Mancheter United player.”
Capello is a well known admirer of the Dutch marksman and Real are expected to submit a new offer for the player later today.
