Exactly, have been clapping for them since the day this little heart understood cricket and that Bangladesh has a team in it. But alas. Despite the few clinches and a win a year in 365 days, in between 2-3 series per year or more...there had been only one win or two, and we forgot everything, we took them up on our head. Just as reev said, we praised them as gods but look where bd cricket is still stands. At the bottom, not the top not the middle up nor the middle down in the cricket rankings.
It's been 10 years from 1998 since BD won their first ever ODI match against Kenya. We still stand where we were. The only differences are now the team is more dependent on a flock of new kids who are trying their best I assume, but that ain't changing the results in the field too much. The quantity of losses aren't any where near to becoming low. Why? Why ain't there a good structure in Bd cricket and the domestic cricket as of yet? Same goes for the selection and scooping up new new fresh youngsters who has the talent to blast the opponent in the real ODI/Test games.
I cannot cheer for a team/cricket board that has shown minimal change in 8 years. I can only cheer for those who have tried their best to bring pride to our golden Bangla. Bravo to those kids who are yet trying their heart out. That is how it is supposed to be, that is how one should play for their country. |
