Let's see,
There has three kind of OS for general purpose.
1. Linux
2. Mac based
3. Windows based.
Here only Linux is open source.
I think, Google ll choose Linux kernel to make there OS. Because after all, Google as a Search Engine, I dont think, they ll make there own kernel to make a new OS.
N if they use Linux kernel, then I guess, Google OS ll be Open Source that's mean ofcourse free of cost.
Like what you told, that's not wrong also.
If they want to play monopoly with this, still they can with this.
Then may be, they ll make two version of Google OS, one for freely distributed, another for commercially use. Just same like Rad Hat Inc.
Google already has this kind of product. Like, Google Earth, Gmail. Both has two version. One is free (but not open source), another is pro (for professional user and commercially use). Angel  |
